U.S.: Trump Supports WikiLeaks Claim On Major Hack

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter to back WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's claims that Russia was not behind hacks on U.S. organizations during the 2016 presidential election, BBC reported Jan. 4. U.S. intelligence agencies say Russia attacked the Democratic Party in an effort to skew the elections, but Trump does not accept the unanimous conclusions. Assange said Russia was not the source of the hacked emails, which his website helped disseminate. U.S. intelligence officials are due to brief Trump on the hacking case Jan. 6. Trump says the briefing was originally set for earlier this week, but intelligence officials deny that the meeting was postponed.
