Turkey: 11 Countries Meet To Discuss Syria

Diplomats from 11 countries met in Istanbul on April 20 to discuss the Syrian crisis, Xinhua reported. Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates countries comprise the core group of the Friends of Syria — the group that is trying to create an action plan to end the conflict in Syria. There was also a private meeting at the Adile Sultan Palace in which Syrian opposition coalition members participated. Already a disaster within Syria, the civil war has the potential to disrupt the surrounding region and any state with interests there.
