Syria: U.K. To Review Ban On Weapons To Conflicting Sides

The United Kingdom will review the EU arms embargo on Syria, and Prime Minister David Cameron will press U.S. President Barack Obama to prioritize Syria, The Guardian reported Nov. 8. The National Security Council next week will review the EU ban, which covers the provision of weapons to all sides in the Syrian conflict. The Foreign Office said Nov. 7 that it will talk with military figures in Syria's opposition, though it said it has no plans to arm the rebels. Meanwhile, Cameron has also discussed the possibility of arranging a safe exit for Syrian President Bashar al Assad.
