Syria: Obama Warns Of Military Action Over Chemical Weapons

U.S. President Barack Obama on Aug. 20 threatened military action against Syria if there is evidence that the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad is moving stocks of chemical or biological weapons, The New York Times reported. A situation in which such weapons fall into the hands of the wrong people is unacceptable and concerns all U.S. allies in the region, Obama said. The White House has put together a range of contingency plans and informed every regional country that it considers such a scenario a "red line," Obama said.
