Syria: EU Agrees Member Countries Free To Send Arms

EU member states are free to ship weapons to Syria starting June 1, the EU Observer reported May 28. A compromise was reached after 14 hours of talks in Brussels, and the agreement comes with a declaration that no country will deliver weapons at this stage. All other sanctions, including visa bans and asset freezes, will be extended for one year.
