South Sudan: Government Says Sudan Killed 7 In Airstrikes

South Sudan said Sudan killed seven people in airstrikes that lasted three days near a disputed border area, jeopardizing plans to resume oil exports, Reuters reported Nov. 23. Sudanese officials have denied the accusations. The two countries signed the agreement to resume oil exports in late September, but Juba will likely continue to look for alternative export options so as to decrease its reliance on Khartoum's pipeline network.
