Saudi Arabia: 18 Arrested For Ties To Islamic State

Raids by Saudi police led to the capture 18 suspects tied to the Islamic State group, according to a Feb. 16 Saudi Ministry of Interior statement, AP reported. The suspects reportedly included two Yemenis and one Sudanese man in addition to 15 Saudis. The suspects include alleged bombmakers, recruiters and men suspected of providing logistical and financial support to the militant group. Jihadist ideology has deep roots in Saudi Arabia; the country has been one of the top sources of foreign militants in Iraq and Syria since the Syrian civil war began.
