Pakistan: Six Killed In Raid Against Militants

Five militants and one policeman were killed Dec. 16 in Peshawar as police and troops clashed with militants carrying automatic weapons, grenades and mortars, AFP reported. The militants were responsible for a raid late Dec. 15 on the city's airport, which left seven dead and more than 40 injured. The Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for the airport attack. Pakistan has seen the rise of its own Taliban factions over the past few years, and containing them will be a challenge.
