Pakistan: Key Taliban Leader Reportedly Killed

Wali Muhammad, a Pakistani Taliban leader who is reportedly the head of the group's wing of suicide bombers, or "fidai," was one of 16 people killed Jan. 6 in an unmanned aerial vehicle strike in South Waziristan, IANS reported Jan. 7, citing a Xinhua article that cited local media sources. The attack follows a suspected U.S. unmanned aerial vehicle strike on Jan. 3 that killed the top warlord of the Ahmadzai Waziri tribe.
