Lithuania: No Concessions To Gazprom In Negotiations, Prime Minister Says

Lithuania will not offer any concessions to Russian natural gas firm Gazprom as the country seeks a lower price on purchases of natural gas, Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius said Feb. 1, The Baltic Course reported Feb. 4. The time is coming to sign a new gas supply agreement and find a new formula for determining natural gas prices, Butkevicius said, adding that Lithuania would like the same price Latvia and Estonia have. Russia's energy leverage could be waning in the Baltics.
