Libya: National Congress Head To Resign May 28

Libyan General National Congress Chief Mohammed Magarief will resign May 28 due to the passage of the Isolation Law, which bans those who held senior posts under ousted leader Moammar Gadhafi from participating in the new government, Reuters reported May 27. The Isolation Law has been highly debated within Libya, since its passage forces the removal of key technocrats, such as Magarief, who have helped oversee the country's political transition since 2011.
