Lebanon: Rival Groups Clash In Tripoli

Fighters in Tripoli, Lebanon, exchanged rocket-propelled grenades and machine-gun fire late Dec. 5 and early Dec. 6 and rockets fired from Syria landed in Lebanese border towns, unnamed security sources said, The Daily Star reported. At least eight people were killed in the clashes, which took place between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al Assad, sources said. Meanwhile, at least 10 rockets fired from Syria landed in the outskirts of the towns of Noura and Dbabieh in the northern Akkar province.
