Israel: Iranian Nuclear Development Could Accelerate, Netanyahu Says

The new centrifuges for uranium enrichment being installed by Iran could cut by one-third the time the country needs to create a nuclear weapon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Feb. 11, Reuters reported. Iran has not crossed a redline, but the country's moves will shorten the time it will take it to do so, Netanyahu said. World powers must increase pressure on Tehran for the interests of peace and security, he said. Washington and Tehran have been putting out feelers for another round of negotiations, and though it could rile Israel, Iran's possible acceleration of its nuclear program could add the urgency necessary to propel the talks.
