Iran: Rial Falls To An All-Time Low

The Iranian rial fell to an all-time low Sept. 9, trading at roughly 24,000 rials to the U.S. dollar, exchange traders said, Reuters reported. The currency's slump comes amid growing pressure from the West as U.S.- and EU-led sanctions aim to push Tehran to return to negotiations on uranium enrichment and, more generally, to contain Iran's growing regional ambitions.
