Egypt: White House, Morsi Advisers Meet In Washington

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi's assistant for foreign affairs, Essam al-Haddad, met in Washington with U.S. National Security Adviser Tom Donilon on Dec. 4, according to a U.S. Embassy in Cairo statement Dec. 5. The two officials reaffirmed the strategic relationship between the United States and Egypt, according to the statement. Morsi, who is attempting to institutionalize the Muslim Brotherhood's hold on power, is expected to visit the United States beginning Dec. 17.
