Egypt: Police Disperse Muslims Protesting Outside Church

Police in the village of Marashda in southern Egypt on Jan. 18 fired tear gas to disperse hundreds of Muslim protesters outside a church, AP reported. The protesters were demanding an investigation of a Christian man alleged to have sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl. Residents in the city of Qena said four stores owned by Copts were torched overnight.
