Egypt: Competing Protests In Cairo Planned

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist parties have called for a "million man march" in support of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi outside the presidential palace in Cairo on Dec. 5, according to the group's Twitter feed. Meanwhile, dozens of demonstrators are preparing for a sit-in outside the presidential palace to protest the recent constitutional declaration and planned referendum on the draft constitution, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported, citing state media. Protesters have already begun erecting tents outside the building. Morsi returned to the palace Dec. 5 after leaving amid protests Dec. 4, an unnamed aide said, Reuters reported.
