Cyprus: Election Results In Runoff

Nicos Anastasiades, leader of the main Cypriot opposition party Disy, won the first round of Cyprus' presidential elections but did not garner an outright victory, Bloomberg reported Feb. 17. Anastasiades won 45.5 percent of votes, while Stavros Malas, who was backed by the Akel party of outgoing President Demetris Christofias, won 26.9 percent. A runoff vote between the two will take place Feb. 24.
