Some 44 M23 rebels in the Democratic Republic of the Congo were killed Nov. 15 during fighting between the rebel group and the Congolese army near the Ugandan border, ending a two-month cease-fire, Congolese officials said, AP reported. Approximately 700 rebels reportedly attacked the military early in the morning, and fighting continued until mid-afternoon.
