Colombian forces killed Jacobo Arango, a brigade commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, better known as FARC, Colombian Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon said Feb. 1, Reuters reported. Arango was close to FARC's chief peace negotiator and commanded an area straddling Cordoba and Antioquia provinces, Pinzon said. Arango was among six rebels killed in an assault Jan. 31.
