Bahrain: Political Groups Banned From Contacting Hezbollah

The Bahraini government has banned the country's political groups from having any contact with Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, Reuters reported May 27. The move comes a day after the Bahraini foreign minister called Hezbollah's leader a terrorist. The Sunni regime of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa has faced growing opposition from the country's Shia majority since protests began in 2011, and has accused Iran and Hezbollah of fanning that unrest.
