Algeria: Troops Sent To Rescue Hostages Reportedly Seized By Malian Militants

Algerian troops have begun an operation to rescue hostages seized Jan. 16 at a natural gas facility, Reuters reported. Oil major BP confirmed that an incident took place at a natural gas field. An Algerian security official said the militants who carried out the kidnapping came from Mali and added that the Algerian army has caught up with and surrounded them.
