North Korea: U.N. Security Council Condemns Nuclear Test
The U.N. Security Council released a unanimous statement condemning North Korea's Feb. 12 test of a nuclear device, AFP reported. China joined the other 14 members of the U.N. Security Council in a statement that said North Korea was in violation of U.N. resolutions, and that the council would immediately begin work on appropriate measures in response to the test. Despite its economic dependence on China, North Korea's nuclear test demonstrated Beijing's inability or unwillingness to prevent Pyongyang from taking provocative actions.
