FAQs

  • What is Stratfor?

Stratfor is a geopolitical intelligence platform that brings global events into valuable perspective. We empower businesses, governments and individuals to more confidently navigate their way through an increasingly complex international environment. Stratfor is built on the belief that transformative world events are predictable. Using our proprietary methodology for identifying key geopolitical trends and shifts in global power, our analysts interpret the significance of today’s events and develop a more accurate forecast for the future.

  • What is Stratfor Worldview?
Worldview is the primary source for Stratfor’s published geopolitical analyses and forecasting. • What is Stratfor’s political orientation?
Stratfor is rigorously non-partisan and non-ideological. We make no policy prescriptions and do not advocate what should happen. Instead, our geopolitical analysis and forecasting focus on what will happen. Stratfor is privately owned and not affiliated with any government or non-governmental agency.
  • What is the difference between “news" and “analysis?"
Stratfor publishes geopolitical intelligence, analyses and forecasts. We are not journalists. Our goal is not to report on what people say, but rather to cut through the noise and identify what’s truly important right now and develop a more accurate view of the future. Instead of events, our focus is on what those events actually mean, how they connect to the long-term geopolitical trends shaping the international system and how they constrain decision making. Where journalists are focused on the day’s headlines, Stratfor’s work looks at what those headlines will be a week, month, year or decade in the future.
