EUROPE

  • Nov. 5: French trade union CGT calls for a 24-hour strike at oil refineries throughout France.
  • Nov. 5: The Greek Parliament is expected to vote on a new round of austerity measures.
  • Nov. 5: The French government will discuss a report on how to boost the competitiveness of the French economy.
  • Nov. 5-8: Interpol will hold its general assembly in Rome, Italy.
  • Nov. 6: Business plans are due to be presented by all the companies competing for the tender of Greek natural gas company DEPA.
  • Nov. 6: Greek trade unions ADEDY and GSEE called for a two-day general strike beginning on this date.
  • Nov. 6-8: The North African Oil and Gas summit will be held in Vienna.
  • Nov. 6-14: An International Monetary Fund delegation will visit Bucharest, Romania.
  • Nov. 7: The European Commission is expected to release a new growth and deficit forecast for the European Union.
  • Nov. 7: The European Commission is expected to present its position on Hungary's fiscal policies.
  • Nov. 7-8: The European Parliament will meet to debate the new multiyear EU budget.
  • Nov. 9: The Bulgarian government is expected to sign an agreement with Gazprom on the construction of the Bulgarian section of the South Stream natural gas pipeline.
  • Nov. 9: The Polish parliament is expected to debate the European Fiscal Compact.
  • Nov. 11: Slovenia will hold presidential elections.

FORMER SOVIET UNION

  • Nov. 5: European Council Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks will arrive in Azerbaijan.
  • Nov. 5: The Azerbaijani-Bulgarian business forum will be held in Baku.
  • Nov. 5: A delegation of NATO and U.S. experts will visit Baku to attend trainings.

SOUTH ASIA

  • Nov. 5: India and Japan will hold their first meeting on cybersecurity. 
  • Nov. 5-6: Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Laos.
  • Nov. 5-10: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will continue his trip to India.
  • Nov. 9: Nitish Kumar, chief minister of the Indian state of Bihar, will visit Pakistan along with a delegation composed of Cabinet members.

EAST ASIA

  • Nov. 5-6: The ninth summit of the Asia-Europe meeting will be held in Vientiane, Laos.
  • Nov. 5-6: The ninth session of the Belarusian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  • Nov. 5-16: The United States and Japan will hold a military drill in Japan.
  • Nov. 8: The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will begin in Beijing. 

AMERICAS

  • Unspecified date: The Mexican Chamber of Deputies will finalize the text of the labor law reform.
  • Unspecified date: The Pacific Alliance will hold a ministerial meeting in Cartagena, Colombia. 
  • Nov. 5-8: A delegation from the Indian steel and mining sectors will continue its visit to Brazil.
  • Nov. 6: The U.S. presidential election will be held.
  • Nov. 7: Peruvian public workers have threatened to strike over wage demands.

MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA

  • Nov. 5: The Muscat International Islamic Finance Forum will be held in Oman.
  • Nov. 5-6: The Algeria Future Energy conference will be held in Algiers.
  • Nov. 5-6: Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran will hold a joint anti-drug trafficking meeting that will include interior ministers.
  • Nov. 5-7: Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte will visit Turkey.
  • Nov. 10-14: A British business delegation will visit Algeria.

AFRICA

  • Nov. 7: The U.N. Security Council will prepare a resolution to extend the mandate of the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Somalia by a full year.
