Former Soviet Union Analyst

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a high quality of mind and energy for what we do. All positions will be based out of the company headquarters in Austin, TX.
 
We care about how you think, not what security clearance you hold or how many degrees you’ve acquired. To be considered for the Former Soviet Union Analyst position, you must be willing to internalize Stratfor's geopolitical methodology to make sense of the world. You must be willing to go beyond a narrow area of expertise to understand how issues connect across regions and themes. You must demonstrate both rigor and creativity in how you analyze intelligence. You must possess the intellectual discipline to regularly challenge baseline assumptions without getting your feelings hurt. And you must love this enough to live, breathe and eat the job. As an analyst, you will be responsible for processing incoming intelligence daily for service consulting clients and Stratfor's geopolitical website with consistent, forward-looking intelligence and analysis. Analysts are required to leave ideology at the door and maintain a sober approach in analyzing how political, economic, security, and social factors combine to form a forecast. In this position, you will regularly contribute articles for Stratfor's website and will deliver briefings for a variety of Stratfor clients. Candidates will thus need to demonstrate strong communication skills in English in both writing and speaking. NOTE - This is not a junior-level position. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong depth in knowledge of Russia and the surrounding region.

Controller

Job Description:

Leader of all accounting and cost analysis, performance metrics generation, internal control implementation, general accounting duties, management reporting, payroll and benefit oversight, cash management and related functions.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enforce and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives
  • Provide guidance to ensure that necessary internal accounting controls are in place to protect company assets
  • Enforcing adherence to control requirements while supporting implementation and maintenance of systems, policies, and procedures
  • Direct and/or perform cost accounting functions to assure reporting and analysis of firm results
  • Provide for prompt feedback of financial information and recommendations for improvement to CEO and COO to optimize results and minimize unfavorable trends
  • Accelerate monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate financial information and records
  • Prepare and maintain daily/weekly cash reports and periodic cash forecasts in addition to managing vendor payments
  • Prepare an annual departmental budget and analyze variances against this budget
  • Provide scheduled and ad hoc financial and management reports
  • Ownership of GL, chart of accounts, fixed asset management and cash management
  • Management of all A/R and A/P activities
  • Payroll and benefit administration
  • Ownership of insurance obligations
  • Support outside tax accountant in the preparation and filing of state and federal tax returns
  • Support and manage annual financial and 401(k) audits

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience

Digital Analytics Manager

Job Description:

This position offers the opportunity to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment at a fast-paced Austin-based firm. The Digital Analytics Manager will be the internal authority on all data relative to (digital) product engagement and performance of all marketing initiatives. 

The person in this vital role will use their love for data to ensure that all KPIs are measured accurately and will consistently be looking for new data measurements to impact with their well-analyzed findings, which will drive the business forward.   The Marketing department as well as the product development team will rely on the Digital Analytics Manager to provide a constant flow of actionable information.  This same information will be used to ensure the success of a robust Paid Search strategy. 

Core Responsibilities (Impacts all direct response activities in the company):

  • Provide the actionable insights used to lead the delivery of conversion rate optimization (CRO) projects across multiple online products (B2C & B2B), using Google Analytics and similar Analytics churning platforms.
  • Contribute towards the product strategy based on analytics and optimization goals.
  • Undertake A/B and Multivariate (MVT) testing, taking ownership of the testing platform and improving its capabilities.
  • Work with Information Technology, Web Development and other internal teams to ensure technical compatibility of systems while capturing and ensuring the success of key aspects – such as landing pages, tracking codes and integration of analytics.
  • Support all channel leaders in achieving their acquisition and retention goals including but not limited to Social Media, PR, Customer Service, Email Marketing and Content Creation.

Reporting and Analysis (Multiple products simultaneously):

  • Reporting on key metrics, analyzing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on analytical data (extracted from Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other Universal Analytics including 3rd party data mining/analysis portals).
  • Analyzing online user behavior, conversion data and customer journeys/funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution for multiple products (B2C & B2B).
  • Present recommendations based on traffic trends for improving site conversion.
  • Performing ad-hoc analytics influencing conversion optimization strategies with solid analytical data.
  • Delivering regular reporting and analysis documentation and presenting findings and test results.
  • Developing custom marketing dashboard concepts for various in-house departments and channel leaders based on reporting needs for increasing ROI respectively.
  • Lead marketing analytics that includes Customer Lifetime Value modeling by source of acquisition, predictive response modeling, and campaign performance and test reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate areas for improved efficiency by performing ROI analysis for different marketing campaigns.
  • Providing inputs on campaign tagging and additional on-site tracking.
  • Identify opportunities for implementation of innovative methodologies to improve overall analytics structure.
  • Using available data sources to administer drill-down methodologies and to identify and troubleshoot campaign performance issues.
  • Working closely with the IT, Retention and Customer Service team to identify and explore opportunities to support retention and new customer acquisition efforts.
  • Collaborating with the design and development teams for on-site conversion optimization projects.
  • Identifying objectives and advising on suitable measurement strategies.
  • Benchmarking performance across all online channels and advising on KPIs.
  • Using methodical performance analysis to influence/support campaign strategies.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with the Universal Analytics platform especially with knowledge of the transition that Google implemented with their analytics calculations.
  • In-depth expertise in Google Analytics (up to date certification strongly preferred), with experience and knowledge of dashboards, tagging and RegExpressions.
  • Strong experience with test sites like Visual Website Optimizer (VWO), Google Experiments for A/B, MVT etc.
  • The working (intermediate level – minimum) knowledge of web languages like HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Extensive knowledge of CRO and the various techniques involved.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience-using formulas, pivot tables etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, and experience of dealing with large volumes of data, using SQL, SPSS or similar including platforms like Unbounce.
  • The ability and strong desire to think analytically, to be able to identify and solve problems through data analysis.
  • Results driven and solution oriented approach.

Front-End Web/Drupal Developer
