U.S. Military Involvement in Africa

The United States is seeking to establish an Africa Command (AFRICOM) presence for core relationships and temporary access to facilities in the five regions of Africa by the end of 2008. AFRICOM is currently located at the U.S. Europe Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
