This brief analyzes the 2013 French White Paper on National Security and Defense -- i.e., it outlines its strategic priorities, main objectives, and how the country might fulfill them in the future.

Finally, the brief looks at France's geostrategic plans for Europe and discusses the significance the paper might have for Switzerland.
