A roadside bomb stuck the motorcade of Pakistani Ambassador to Sri Lanka Bashir Wali Mohamed in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Aug. 14, killing four members of Mohamed's security team and three bystanders. The ambassador, who was riding in an armored vehicle, escaped unharmed. The attack represents a tactical shift by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam separatist group, in that it now appears to be targeting foreign officials -- in this case, the representative of a country that is supplying arms to Colombo.
