A group from the rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) released a video Jan. 27 allegedly showing seven Iranians captured in Homs, including five members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two civilians, Al Arabiya reported. The video shows travel documents of the captives, some of whom speak Farsi, plus a statement from one captive identifying himself as part of an IRGC team tasked by the Syrian air force to crack down on protesters in Homs. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei should explicitly acknowledge the IRGC's Syrian operations and withdraw its fighters, according to a statement from the FSA group, which calls itself the "al-Farouq brigade of the Free Syrian Army."
