Russian oil giant LUKoil on Oct. 7 asked Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani to remove obstacles to LUKoil's investment in Iraq's West Qurna oil field, Reuters reported. LUKoil President Vagit Alekperov said al-Shahristani is to blame for delaying a deal on West Qurna, even though Russia has agreed to write off most of Iraq's debt.
