Saudi Arabia: No Attendance On Regional Syria Meeting

A representative from Saudi Arabia did not attend a meeting with Egyptian, Turkish and Iranian officials on Sept. 17 to discuss the situation in Syria, Reuters reported. An Egyptian official said the Saudi foreign minister did not attend due to heath reasons. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Saudi officials would join future meetings. The meeting was organized by Egypt, which is trying to reassert its leadership of the Arab world under new President Mohammed Morsi.
