Mexico: Police Officers Detained In Shootings Of U.S. Embassy Employees

Twelve Mexican federal police officers have been detained in the investigation into how two U.S. Embassy employees were wounded in an Aug. 24 attack outside Mexico City, Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales said Aug. 27, Reuters reported. The officers have not been charged with any offense, but a judge has ordered that the officers remain in custody for 40 days while prosecutors investigate possible abuses of authority.
