Taiwanese tech company Foxconn expects to begin construction on an electronics plant in an industrial zone near Jakarta in October, Indonesian Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said Aug. 15, Reuters reported. The company, which is investing between $5 billion and $10 billion in Indonesia, expects to assemble some 3 million handsets per year at the plant initially before expanding output and diversifying products in the future, Wirjawan said.
