Mexico: A Guerrilla Group's Latest Threat
Austin, TX, Dec. 4, 2007 – Mexican guerrilla group Popular Revolutionary Army (EPR) issued a communique Dec. 3 saying it is resuming its campaign of violence in the country. STRATFOR’s Terrorism Brief today explores the past bomb attacks the group has staged- particularly against energy infrastructure in Mexico. The most recent pipeline attacks suggested that the EPR would strike again on Nov. 10, however, they didn’t. The latest EPR message revealed that the group refrained from attacking in order to demonstrate its patience and allow the government more time to respond to their demands. This could mean the EPR is planning their next attacks on Dec. 10.
