Pakistan's federal Cabinet on Jan. 30 approved a deal transferring control of Gwadar Port from Singapore to China, the Daily Times website reported.

The United States will grant 180-day waiver on Iran sanctions for nine countries in exchange for cutting purchases of Iranian oil, an unnamed congressional aide said Dec. 7, Reuters reported.

The Nigerian navy rescued Singapore-owned oil tanker Abu Dhabi Star on Sept. 5 after the vessel was hijacked Sept. 4 by pirates, a navy spokesman said, BBC reported.
