U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta arrived in Tokyo on Sept. 16 for a trip that will include visits to Japan, China and New Zealand, Reuters reported.

Australia and New Zealand agreed July 30 to restore full diplomatic relations with Fiji after talks between the three countries' foreign ministers in Sydney, AFP reported. These diplomatic ties have been suspended since 2009.
