According to a report from San Antonio-based WOAI news, the U.S. Border Patrol announced July 23 that it will not be conducting document checks on people fleeing from Hurricane Dolly. When contacted, Customs and Border Patrol denied this statement, but regardless, when disaster strikes human safety becomes more important than any other priorities (like tracking drug traffickers or human smugglers). Even without a storm, the border is difficult to patrol; in a situation like this, the environment becomes even more hostile.
