Newsweek is reporting that U.S. President George W. Bush told Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert during Bush’s recent visit to Israel that he did not agree with the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) assessment on Iran. The U.S. weekly quotes an unnamed senior U.S. official accompanying Bush as saying the president “told the Israelis that he can’t control what the intelligence community says, but that [the NIE’s] conclusions don’t reflect his own views.”
