Five of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) boats harassed and provoked three U.S. Navy ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Jan. 5, CNN reported Jan. 7. Citing unidentified U.S. officials, the report says five armed speed boats belonging to the IRGC came within 600 feet of the U.S. ships, dropped a white box in the water and sent threatening radio messages.
